A Legacy of Wilderness, Warmth, and Shared Vision
Lady Africa Bush Lodge is more than just a destination—it’s the legacy of two women who shared a dream to create something deeply rooted in nature. Founded by Anne-Marie de Vos and her late partner, Lizelle Jacobs, the lodge has grown into a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of the Waterberg. Today, Anne-Marie continues to live on the farm, nurturing their shared vision with a heartfelt commitment to conservation, hospitality, and the quiet magic of the bush.
The story of Lady Africa Bush Lodge
Lady Africa Bush Lodge was officially registered in the names of Anne-Marie de Vos and her late partner Lizelle Jacobs on 14 February 2005, when they began developing the safari camp and introducing game to the reserve. Nestled in the heart of Sterkrivier, the property borders the majestic Hanglip Mountain and the greater Waterberg region on its western edge.
Following Lizelle’s passing in February 2022, Anne-Marie has continued to live permanently on the farm, staying true to their shared vision. The lodge operates with a strong commitment to conservation, carrying out selective game management where necessary to preserve ecological balance.
Ideally located just 1km from the main road, Lady Africa offers a rare combination of accessibility and seclusion. With convenient access to restaurants, shops, local bars, and activities at Legend Golf & Safari Resort, as well as fishing at Doorndraai Dam, the lodge is perfectly positioned for exploration and relaxation.
We are proudly pet-friendly, though we do ask that all pets remain leashed. Guests can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and wildlife viewing in peaceful, natural surroundings. The lodge also caters for special events, including weddings, engagements, spitbraais, and other private functions.
